About this text edition
EXPLORING THE INTERSECTION OF FOOD AND ART Study materials, translations, notes and author essays Compilation and preparation of materials: Andrei Gritskov
COMPLETE WORKING TEXTUAL EDITION Prepared on 25 October 2026 from the supplied 172-page PDF.
This independent compilation explores food in painting, literature, photography, cinema and contemporary art. The compiler’s reflections and study analyses appear alongside translated and quoted sources. The contribution to preparing, compiling and translating the materials was confirmed by the author in the conversation; authorship of the cited works and research remains with their respective authors. The words “I” and “we” within marked translated passages do not describe the compiler’s biography or empirical research.
Working exchanges and obvious repeated versions have been removed, and line breaks caused by the physical page layout have been joined. Each chapter includes the corresponding page range in the original PDF. Illustrations remain in that PDF: this edition contains the text and descriptions of five separate illustration pages, rather than reproducing the print layout. The author’s own passages and literary excerpts have not been rewritten in the Russian editorial version.
Historical information, statistics, titles and quotations requiring verification are listed in a separate editorial checklist. Questionable passages have not been corrected by conjecture. Two missing endings are marked directly in the text. This is the complete working text of the study for further editorial preparation, rather than a final verified publication or a recipe collection.
English working translation of the edited Russian text. Quoted passages have been rendered from the supplied Russian and have not been checked against published English editions. This translation preserves source attribution, the two explicitly marked missing endings, and the factual uncertainties of the working Russian edition. It is not an independent verification of the historical, scientific or statistical claims in those materials.
Translated passages retain the voices of their sources. The words ‘I’ and ‘we’ in those passages do not describe the compiler’s biography or original empirical research.
